Here is the experience of one of my clients (we shall call her Kate) who came to me to stop her panic attacks. You may identify with Kate’s experience but we are all different and each of us experience panic differently. Hypnotherapy can help you control the internal process that is causing your panic attacks and, as in Kate’s case, hypnotherapy can stop panic attacks.
Kate was in her mid twenties. She had suffered from anxiety for years but in the previous three years she started to describe these periods of anxiety as panic as they had become steadily worse and more frequent. For periods of 30 minutes to an hour, uncontrollable panic would cause her to become flustered and nervous, unable to speak properly, her face would redden and her breathing rate would increase. These periods would leave her feeling drained, annoyed and frustrated. The incidents would always occur when she was away from home and sometimes the only way she felt she could stop them was to return home. Kate was becoming increasingly depressed and her confidence was failing.
Kate’s Response to Hypnotherapy
Four months after her fourth and final session Kate sent me a “Thank You” card; in it she wrote the following:
“I am just writing to say thankyou (sic).
“I had some hypnotherapy sessions with you in April of this year and I wanted to let you know that my ‘panic attacks’ have stopped, I have much more self confidence and self esteem and altogether a lot happier in my life.
“Thankyou (sic) again as I really feel that the sessions have had such a strong and positive effect in my life.

Hypnotherapy can stop panic attacks because they are not attacks. Panic is not something that is done to you (an attack), they are something you do to yourself. You feel the panic physically but the trigger is in your mind. Hypnotherapy can help you address that mental trigger.
