How Does One Quit “Vaping”?

So why do you want to stop using e-cigarettes (or stop “vaping”)? If you are reading this you have probably tried to stop and are finding it difficult. Hypnosis can help you stop an e-cigarette habit.

Do You “Vape” to Stop Smoking?

About 100,000 people die in the UK per year from tobacco smoking related illness. Fifty percent of smokers die as a result of their habit. Anything that encourages smokers to stop is positive but where do e-Cigarettes fit in? We are told that smokers are hooked on “highly addictive” nicotine. One would therefore expect e-cigarettes to be equally addictive; yet the NHS state that “most people using nicotine replacement products do not become dependent on them”(See Myth No. 9)!

Are e-Cigarettes Safe?

Unfortunately, according to the American National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIOD) e-cigarettes may be safer than smoking tobacco but they are still dangerous to health because they contain carcinogens and other poisonous substances. There is also no regulation (as exists with other nicotine replacement products) to ensure that they are “safe” to use. Your use of e-cigarettes is putting your health in danger.  

Are you addicted to Nicotine?

There is no correlation between how addictive a substance is and the severity of the withdrawal (and therefore the ease at which you can stop using it). Nicotine is deemed to be highly addictive and long term smoking is even said to change the structure of the brain, yet, I have had many people who find it easy to stop smoking after one Stop Smoking using Hypnotherapy session.

Why are you dependent on e-cigarettes?

In my experience people who become dependent on nicotine replacement products find it harder to stop using them than a smoker to stop smoking. Moving to e-cigarettes reinforces all the negative programming surrounding smoking tobacco and traps those who make the move in a powerful habitual prison. Stopping smoking is more decision based but “vaping” is locked more in image and habit.
