I asked the best people to know - my clients! I surveyed 50 of my clients and 100% said they experienced an improvement in the condition for which they attended!
Most Hypnotherapy registration bodies require newly qualified hypnotherapists to undergo supervision for a minimum period following qualifying. Stephen Rigby is approved to give one to one supervision by the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) the largest register of hypnotherapists in the UK. The need for supervision may vary according to the registration body or personal requirement but the minimum required by the GHR is two hours in any three month period during the first two years of practice.
Why Hypnotherapy Supervision?
I was once told by a driving instructor that it is only after one gets a full licence that one learns to drive. I am not sure how true this is but it would make sense of a few things. The trouble is that passing a test can only establish a basic level of ability. Freed from the scrutinising eye of our instructor we have to make our own decisions on how to address the day to day process of driving. Our driving technique can (and usually does) stray because we find “easier” ways and we form bad habits. Bad habits can only produce bad results – either as an increased cost to our motoring or to our safety or the safety of others.
How Will Supervision Benefit You?
Unfortunately, hypnotherapy is still viewed as an easy option for self employment but it has never been more difficult to find clients and make a living. Hypnotherapy supervision is not just about using the right technique with your clients – it is also about being in business. Having found your clients you have to be able to work with them and develop your own style while doing that. You will come across issues that you have never before encountered and sometimes question your own ability to help someone address them.
Why Choose Me to be Your Supervisor?
I have proven myself to be an effective hypnotherapist and businessman. I have been a full time hypnotherapist and Life Coach since 2002 and have a number of medical consultants and doctors who trust my competency sufficiently to refer their patients to me. You should, however, be expecting more from your supervisor.
Being a hypnotherapist is not about following a recipe (like baking a cake): one has to learn flexibility. Having done a variety of jobs in various industry sectors at different management levels prior to 2002, my career has allowed me to excel in very different areas. In addition, I have also worked in many other countries which has added to my experience of communicating with all types of cultures and people.
I do not just have experience of hypnotherapy and business – I have experience of life!

What is a Supervisor?
When you start out in a new job its nice to have someone to act as your mentor - if you are a hypnotherapist it is a necessity. There is an argument that genius is more a question of having the right teacher than than having a talent. You want your hypntherapy supervisor to bring out the genius in you.
